1. Attend our General Meetings (GMs)!
These will be every Wednesday from 7PM-8PM (Winter Quarter 2023) - the location might change occasionally throughout the academic year so pay attention to our weekly ListServs! Usually, we’ll be chilling and doing something theme-park related, like giving presentations on our favorite obscure rides or watching Defunctland documentaries. Coming to GMs isn’t necessary to be involved with TPED*, but anyone is welcome and it’s a nice way to unwind if you’re at all interested in themed entertainment.
2. Sign up for projects/competitions!
We have so many neat opportunities for yall! We generally have one larger project going on per quarter, and we also take part in smaller scale themed design competitions throughout the year. These are - to be honest - decent resume padders, but they’re also just fun, and an opportunity to learn a lot while making something cool. Skills you could learn or use include 3D modeling, scenic layout, lighting design, ride engineering, concept illustration, and ride conceptualization. Again, stay tuned to our ListServs to learn more about our upcoming projects and events!
3. Join our Slack channel!
We share club updates on there, as well as details for some events/activities that don’t get sent with the emails. If you join a competition or project, it is also where you’ll most likely be communicating with your other team members. Here’s a link.
4. Read our ListServs!
You’ll find our major announcements on here - upcoming events, upcoming projects, anything you wouldn’t want to miss. These emails are sent weekly, usually during the nebulous witching hours between Monday night and Tuesday morning (so tuesdays at 2am mostly).
